Privacy Policy

Overview

QRVelto (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates qrvelto.com, a free browser-based QR code generator. This policy covers the website at qrvelto.com. We built the generator so that the content you turn into a QR code — a URL, Wi-Fi credentials, vCard details, or menu link — is processed directly in your own browser and is not transmitted to our servers as part of generating the code.

Is Your Input Data Sent to a Server?

No. Every QR code tool on this site (URL, Wi-Fi, menu, vCard, and logo generators) builds the QR code image using JavaScript that runs locally in your browser. The text you type — including URLs, Wi-Fi network names and passwords, and contact details — is never uploaded to our servers, logged, or stored by us as part of that process.

Are QR Codes Generated Locally?

Yes. QR code images are rendered on-device using client-side code. Once the page has loaded, generating a QR code does not require a new request to our servers, and it works even if your connection is slow, because no image or data round-trip to a server is involved.

Wi-Fi Passwords, Contact Details, and URLs

We do not store the Wi-Fi network names or passwords, vCard contact details, menu links, or destination URLs you enter. They exist only in your browser’s memory while the page is open and are discarded when you close or refresh the tab. We have no database of user-submitted QR content.

Logo Uploads

The logo image generator lets you add a picture to the center of a QR code. That image is read directly from your device using your browser’s file reader and drawn onto a canvas in memory — it is not uploaded to our servers or saved anywhere by us. It is discarded with the rest of the page state when you leave or refresh the page.

Server Logs and Analytics

Like most websites, our hosting infrastructure may automatically record standard technical request logs (such as IP address, browser type, approximate region, requested page, and timestamp) purely to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the service. We are not currently running a dedicated analytics platform (such as Google Analytics) on this site. If we add one in the future, it will only run after you consent to “Analytics” cookies through our cookie banner, and this policy will be updated first.

Cookies

We use a small amount of local browser storage to remember your cookie-preference choice itself; this is necessary/functional and does not track you across sites. We do not currently set analytics or marketing cookies. See our Cookie Policy for the full breakdown of cookie categories and how to change your choice at any time.

Advertising

QRVelto is a free tool and may in the future display advertising, potentially including networks such as Google AdSense, to help cover hosting costs. Advertising cookies are not currently active on this site. If that changes, third-party ad vendors would only load after you opt in to “Marketing” cookies, and this policy will be updated to name the specific vendors involved.

Third-Party Services

The site is served through our hosting provider, which processes standard web traffic to deliver pages to your browser. We do not currently use third-party payment processors, since QRVelto has no paid features, accounts, or checkout flow. If we introduce analytics, advertising, or payment services in the future, they will be named here along with what they receive.

Data Retention

Because the content you convert into a QR code is never sent to or stored on our servers, there is nothing for us to retain or delete on that front — it disappears with your browser tab. Standard hosting request logs, where they exist, are retained only as long as needed for security and operational purposes and are then rotated out. Your cookie-preference choice, stored in your own browser, remains until you clear it or change it.

How to Request Data Deletion

Since we do not hold a database of your QR content or a user account tied to you, there is generally nothing server-side to delete. If you contacted us directly (for example, through the contact form or by email) and would like that correspondence deleted, or if you have any other data-related request, email support@qrvelto.com and we will respond and act on verified requests within a reasonable timeframe. You can also clear your local cookie-preference choice at any time from the Cookie Policy page or your browser settings.

Your Rights Under GDPR (EEA / UK)

If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation, including the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you, the right to restrict or object to processing, and the right to data portability. Because we do not collect personal data through the QR generation tools themselves, these rights apply mainly to any correspondence you send us directly and to future analytics/advertising data, once and if enabled. You may contact us to exercise these rights.

Your Rights Under CCPA (California)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act gives you the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to request deletion of your personal information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights. We do not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA. You may contact us to make a request.

Other Regions

We aim to apply the same privacy-respecting practices described here to visitors regardless of location. If your local law provides additional rights not covered above, contact us and we will do our best to accommodate your request.

Children’s Privacy

Our service is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

Data Security

The site is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection. Because QR code generation happens locally in your browser, the most sensitive information you handle here — Wi-Fi passwords, contact details, and links — never leaves your device in the first place.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy as the site evolves, including if we add analytics, advertising, or new features. When we do, we will revise the “last updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review it periodically. See also our Data Processing page for a plain-language summary of how and where data moves.
